Mental Health Nurse Clinical Lead

We are looking to recruit a dynamic and enthusiastic Clinical Lead to oversee the clinical day to day operations of our new 13-bed step through rehabilitative facility in South Gloucestershire. Our service is for adult males aged 18-65 with a primary diagnosis of mental health illness transitioning out of psychiatric hospital. We operate on the core philosophy of promoting independence, health and social recovery, through the utilisation of bespoke rehabilitative support planning, innovative support delivery and nationally recognised risk management processes.

As the Maples Clinical Lead, you will be expected to provide support, guidance and leadership to an innovative and compassionate clinical team. You will be expected to work in partnership with The Park’s therapeutic team to deliver a recovery focused clinical and therapeutic offering to male adults (aged 18-65) experiencing complex mental health difficulties using a wide range of bespoke care planning and risk management strategies.

Your team will be comprised of both nursing and front-line support staff and you will be expected to lead and continuously develop the clinical offering ensuring that the service’s values and visions are encapsulated and embedded into clinical practice and that person centred planning is integral to the clinical offering.

The main purpose of the role is to lead and continuously develop The Park’s clinical offering and staff team working in partnership with the therapeutic team to deliver a flexible, innovative, recovery focused service using bespoke care planning and risk management strategies enabling service users to achieve recovery, wellbeing and independence in a safe and supportive environment.

• To lead, support and delegate the roles and responsibilities of the Nursing team within the service

• To have a clear understanding of policies and procedures, as well as legislation and guidance related to clinical practice and governance including CQC Regulations

• Able to demonstrate skills, attributes and knowledge in line with the NHS Clinical Leadership Competency Framework

• Ability to lead meetings, bringing together service users, carers and wider health teams and take an active role in cross agency working

• To deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager

• Have an appropriate clinical registration or qualification in a relevant field

• Be able to undertake appraisal of more junior clinical colleagues

• Ability to develop positive behavioural support strategies and solutions enabling service users achieve their pathways to independence that promotes equality, diversity and inclusion

• Able to analyse risk and implement strategies for its minimisation within a positive risk framework

• Able to work collaboratively as part of the MDT both internally and with external stakeholders in an open and inclusive way About you (the candidate):

Qualifications required:
• An appropriate clinical registration or qualification in a relevant field
• A clear understanding of policies and procedures, as well as legislation and guidance related to clinical practice and governance including CQC Regulations
• Able to demonstrate skills, attributes and knowledge in line with the NHS Clinical Leadership Competency Framework
• Have a robust knowledge of Safeguarding protocols, Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOL’s)
• Able to analyse effectiveness and quality and make recommendations for improvements where this is identified as required
• Proven track record of policy implementation and review
• Strong administrative skills and outstanding record keeping
• Knowledge of local services and resources to develop cross agency working and collaboration
• Ability to deliver high quality rehabilitative support solutions
• Able to work on own initiative and have good problem-solving capabilities as well as strong communication and observational skills
• Experience of developing clinical practice
• Experience of policy review and formulation
• Experiencing of managing change within a clinical setting
