As a volunteer you’ll make a real difference in the life of the person you support by working towards independence and confidence in an agreed activity. You’ll need lots of energy, a warm and welcoming personality and to be happy getting stuck in to a wide range of tasks and activities, all of which make sure that you have the best day you can together.
Whatever activities you choose together, you will deeply impact your buddy’s life.

About you (the candidate): Volunteers can be anyone who is interested in supporting others, has the time to commit to two or more hours per week and be able to support and encourage those to access the activity of their own choice. About us (the employer):Sense is a national disability charity that supports people with complex communication needs to be understood, connected and valued. We began, and continue, to support people who are deafblind. Today, we also support a wide range of people with complex communication needs. Qualifications required: Training and benefits: As part of our recruitment process you will also need to complete a DBS check, provide two references, come in for an informal interview, and attend a 3 hour training session which will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to be a volunteer buddy .
