Carers Support Centre (CSC) – Bristol and South Gloucestershire provides a wide range of information, advice and support services for unpaid adult and young (children) carers. Our Young Carers Service provides help and support to young people aged 8-18, their families, and professionals working with young carers.
Young carers are children and young people who look after someone in their family who has a disability, a long-term illness, or is affected by mental ill health or substance misuse.
Young carers may look after parents, care for a brother or sister, or another family member. The average age of a young carer is 12 and they take on responsibilities normally only expected of an adult.
We currently have a vacancy in our dynamic, creative and supportive Young Carers team, working to ensure that young carers are identified, have access to appropriate support and fulfil their potential.
The successful candidate will;
- lead on activity and groupwork planning for YCs;
- co-ordinate participation and engagement meetings to ensure YCs have their voices heard;
- work with partner organisations to develop a high-quality programme of provision for breaks and social interaction.
